Genève Servette HC – EHC Biel-Bienne 4-1
Our game summary, the key player, video highlights and game statistics.
Genève Servette earned a 4-1 home win against Bienne and have now again their fate in their hands!
The Eagles were understandably nervous since were up against the wall. Bienne for their part played a decent game but wanted this win less than Genève Servette, it’s as simple as that. In our opinion, this is how you can describe the game played at les Vernets.
The Seeländers took the lead during a 5 vs 3 situation with the former Eagle Damien Riat after 15 minutes and 12 seconds. It could have been a huge blow for the hosting side… Servette however, once again proved to have some real Character and equalized always during the first period thanks the the power-play goal scored by Henrik Tömmernes.
From that moment on, Chris McSorley’s troops wanted the win more than Bienne and you could tell… it was therefore not an accident that Daniel Rubin put Genève ahead in the score shortly after the half-an-hour mark. And it was therefore also not an accident that during the final stages of the third period, John Fritsche and Noah Rod – the latter with an empty-netter – set the 4-1 final score!
Chris McSorley (Coach, Genève Servette HC)
We reward Chris McSorley just like friday night. Genève Servette’s coach was able to prepare mentally his team at best for the two games of the weekend!
