GAME DAY – March 2nd, 2019

By now there are three teams who are green on the teletext and two who are red… tonight, anyway, 6 games are scheduled.

Let’s get down to the details!

HC Davos – HC Lugano

01/02/19, 19:45 HC Lugano – HC Davos 4 : 0  (2 : 0) (0 : 0) (2 : 0)
02/01/19, 19:45 HC Davos – HC Lugano 3 : 4  (1 : 2) (0 : 1) (2 : 1)
27/10/18, 19:45 HC Davos – HC Lugano 1 : 6  (0 : 2) (0 : 1) (1 : 3)
26/10/18, 19:45 HC Lugano – HC Davos 5 : 2  (1 : 1) (0 : 0) (4 : 1)
21/09/18, 19:45 HC Lugano – HC Davos 3 : 1  (1 : 0) (1 : 1) (1 : 0)

Lugano, who are coming off the good performance and home win earned against Zug last night, travel to Davos to earn three points that would mean playoffs. It’s not impossible… the Bianconeri are back being a dangerous side and won 5 of their last 6 games. Careful though, it’s not gonna be a walk in the park tonight in Davos… it’s true that the Ibexes are currently 11th placed and lost last night in Ambrì. But the defeat suffered in Leventina followed the 3 consecutive wins earned against Bern, Zürich and Rapperswil thanks to very good performances.

Genève Servette HC – EHC Biel-Bienne

29/01/19, 19:45 Genève-Servette HC – EHC Bienne 1 : 3  (1 : 2) (0 : 1) (0 : 0)
22/12/18, 19:45 EHC Bienne – Genève-Servette HC 5 : 3  (1 : 1) (0 : 2) (4 : 0)
23/11/18, 19:45 Genève-Servette HC – EHC Bienne 6 : 1  (1 : 0) (2 : 1) (3 : 0)
12/10/18, 19:45 EHC Bienne – Genève-Servette HC 5 : 1  (1 : 0) (1 : 0) (3 : 1)
21/09/18, 19:45 EHC Bienne – Genève-Servette HC 3 : 0  (1 : 0) (2 : 0) (0 : 0)

Genève Servette won last night thanks to a great team performance and therefore still have hopes to make the playoffs. One thing is sure though: missteps are forbidden for the Eagles in those last 2 Regular Season games that will be both played at les Vernets. Including the first one tonight against Bienne who are back being “on fire” as it’s evidenced by last night 4-2 home win earned against Lausanne and as it’s evidenced by the fact that they’re coming off 4 consecutive wins!

Lausanne HC – HC Fribourg Gottéron

15/02/19, 19:45 Lausanne HC – HC Fribourg-Gottéron 3 : 0  (0 : 0) (1 : 0) (2 : 0)
04/01/19, 19:45 HC Fribourg-Gottéron – Lausanne HC 3 : 2  (1 : 1) (1 : 1) (0 : 0) OT
30/11/18, 19:45 HC Fribourg-Gottéron – Lausanne HC 5 : 2  (2 : 0) (0 : 0) (3 : 2)
19/10/18, 19:45 Lausanne HC – HC Fribourg-Gottéron 4 : 1  (0 : 0) (2 : 0) (2 : 1)
21/09/18, 19:45 HC Fribourg-Gottéron – Lausanne HC 1 : 5  (0 : 0) (1 : 2) (0 : 3)

Lausanne lost last night in Bienne and lost 3 of their last 4 games. We mean, they’re not certain to make the playoffs yet even though it’s almost impossible that they will miss them… today’s opponents, anyway, are Fribourg Gottéron who are coming off the 2-3 home defeat suffered last night against Genève Servette that followed the home defeat suffered against Lugano. The Dragons were not good enough during the last two games and if they want to make the playoffs they have to deliver a performance of another level tonight at the Malley 2.0.

SCL Tigers – SC Bern

01/02/19, 19:45 SC Bern – SCL Tigers 2 : 3  (0 : 1) (2 : 0) (0 : 1) OT
02/01/19, 15:45 SCL Tigers – SC Bern 1 : 4  (0 : 0) (0 : 0) (1 : 4)
24/11/18, 19:45 SC Bern – SCL Tigers 1 : 3  (0 : 1) (0 : 0) (1 : 2)
13/10/18, 19:45 SCL Tigers – SC Bern 3 : 1  (1 : 0) (1 : 1) (1 : 0)
22/09/18, 19:45 SC Bern – SCL Tigers 3 : 0  (2 : 0) (0 : 0) (1 : 0)

Langnau can’t afford any further misstep because they’re putting their neck on the line… last night they lost in Rapperswil and the latter defeat extended their winless run to 4-games. And by now, the team 9th placed is only 4 points behind. Heinz Ehlers’ troops must do everything it takes to defeat Bern tonight for the 4th time this season but it’s not gonna be easy. The Mutzen in fact, delivered a very good performance (for about 45 minutes…) last night and won 5-4 against the ZSC Lions.

ZSC Lions – SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers

01/02/19, 19:45 Rapperswil-Jona Lakers – ZSC Lions 4 : 1  (1 : 1) (1 : 0) (2 : 0)
02/01/19, 15:45 ZSC Lions – Rapperswil-Jona Lakers 1 : 0  (0 : 0) (1 : 0) (0 : 0)
29/10/18, 19:45 ZSC Lions – Rapperswil-Jona Lakers 5 : 2  (1 : 1) (2 : 1) (2 : 0)
26/10/18, 19:45 Rapperswil-Jona Lakers – ZSC Lions 0 : 1  (0 : 1) (0 : 0) (0 : 0)
22/09/18, 19:45 Rapperswil-Jona Lakers – ZSC Lions 1 : 2  (0 : 1) (1 : 0) (0 : 1)

The ZSC Lions are playing with fire… they lost 5-4 last night in Bern and lost 7 of their last 10 games. We mean, tonight they have to win against Rapperswil so that they can still have their fate in their hands. Point. Be careful though, because these games that looks easy on paper can turn out to be very dangerous double-edged swords… Just see what happened last night right in Rapperswil, where the Lakers won 5-2 against Langnau and therefore put their 5-games losing streak to an end.

EV Zug – HC Ambrì-Piotta

19/02/19, 19:45 EV Zug – HC Ambrì-Piotta 3 : 6  (1 : 4) (2 : 1) (0 : 1)
01/02/19, 19:45 HC Ambrì-Piotta – EV Zug 4 : 3  (1 : 1) (1 : 1) (1 : 1) OT
02/01/19, 15:45 EV Zug – HC Ambrì-Piotta 6 : 2  (1 : 0) (3 : 1) (2 : 1)
27/10/18, 19:45 HC Ambrì-Piotta – EV Zug 2 : 3  (0 : 1) (0 : 0) (2 : 1) SO
21/09/18, 19:45 HC Ambrì-Piotta – EV Zug 1 : 2  (0 : 0) (1 : 1) (0 : 1)

Zug lost last night in Lugano and therefore lost 4 of their last 5 games. Always last night in Lugano, however, the Bulls proved that thy’re not willing to lose games continuously on the eve of the playoffs even though their fate is sealed and will finish the Regular Season second placed. Ambrì-Piotta for their part are coming off the brillant home win earned last night against Davos that followed the one earned in Lausanne. The playoffs are so close right now… but it’s always better not to take anything for granted.

Have fun, guys 🙂
