Oftentimes you hear it’s after Christmas that you can see the teams’ real values.

Therefore, when there are only a couple of games left to the end of the Regular Season, let’s have a look at the 2019 National League table!

Since not all the teams played the same number of games we’ve ranked them by points on average.

There’s no denying it, Bern and Zug are from another planet. They are the only two teams who’ve been consistent from September till now.

It’s more interesting, however, to have a look at the other teams. All of them, but all of them, had their ups and downs. The best teams behind the two “monsters” are Lausanne and Fribourg Gottéron who have a very good points on average per game in 2019.

Then, three teams with exactly the same average follow. We’re talking about Lugano, Langnau and ZSC Lions.

Genève Servette finally – if we consider the points on average earned in 2019 – would be the last one who make the playoffs. McSorley’s troops got off to a brillant start of 2019 but recently, unfortunately for them, their form dropped.

On the other hand, Ambrì-Piotta and Bienne would miss the playoffs. Obviously with Davos and Rapperswil who have been out of the picture since a long while by now.

Then again, at this moment this table means everything and its opposite. Only Lausanne are almost certain to make the playoffs with Bern and Zug… not even Langnau can consider themselves safe since they’re only 5 points clear of Zürich and Lugano who are currently 8th and 9th place.

We mean, now it’s all about “who’s got more guts!” The playoffs battle promises to be very entertaining till the end… good luck everyone!
