GAME DAY – January 24, 2019
Two games are scheduled tonight… let’s get down to the details!
Genève Servette HC – HC Ambrì-Piotta
Genève Servette and Ambrì-Piotta face each other for the third time this season. So far the home advantage was crucial… the Leventinesi won 4-2 at the Valascia while the Eagles won 4-2 at les Vernets.
Chris McSorley’s troops are coming off the two consecutive defeats suffered against the first two teams of the league – Zug and Bern – that put to an end their 4-games winning run. Genève Servette, anyway, are in a good shape and especially at home are oftentimes brillant. This is evidenced also by the fact that they won 6 of their last 8 games played at les Vernets. Cereda’s troops for their part are coming off the home win earned against Davos that followed the away defeat suffered in Rapperswil. Overall, Ambrì-Piotta won only 2 of their last 5 games… but whey they follow the game plan to the letter, they’re en extremely tough nut to crack.
SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers – HC Fribourg Gottéron
Rapperswil and Fribourg Gottéron face each other for the third time this season. The Dragons won both two previous seasonal heads to heads, firstly they won 3-2 at home and then 4-1 away.
Jeff Tomlinson’s troops are coming off the 3-5 away defeat suffered in Langnau that followed the 4-2 home win earned against Ambrì-Piotta. The win earned against the Leventinesi, however, was the only one of the last 12 games… Anyway, the Lakers are slowly growing and are able to deliver some solid performances every now and then. Fribourg Gottéron instead are coming off the brillant 7-2 home win earned against the ZSC Lions that followed the two narrow defeats suffered against Zug and Lugano. The Dragons won only 2 of their last 5 games but their recent performances have been solid and quite convincing too.
Have fun, guys 🙂
