26.08.18 – FC St. Gallen – FC Luzern 0-1

FC Luzern

Luzern are coming off the good performance that led to the 3-2 away win earned against Grasshopper. The latter win followed the 0-2 away defeat suffered in Sion and the 1-1 draw earned against Basel. René Weiler’s troops have extensive room for improvement even though oftentimes the performances delivered are decent… consistency is a problem though. This is evidenced by the fact that the last time Luzern won 2 consecutive games goes back to early September, and also by the fact that their last home win dates back to September 3, when they won 2-1 against Grasshopper!

FC St. Gallen

St. Gallen are coming off the 3-2 home win earned against Neuchâtel Xamax that finally put to an end their 3-games losing streak! By now we all know that Peter Zeidler’s troops darn lack consistency and not for nothing they earned only 9 points in their last 8 games. Moreover, their last away win dates back to November 5, when they won 1-0 in Sion… It’s pointless to beat around the bush: a win right on the eve of the winter break would be a godsend!

Trivia…

St. Gallen’s last win in Luzern dates back to February 21, 2016. On that day at the Swissporarena St. Gallen were coached by Joe “Ferrari” Zinnbauer and earned a 1-0 away win thanks to the goal scored by Danijel Aleksic in the 40th minute of play.
