02.09.18 – Neuchâtel Xamax FCS – FC St. Gallen 2-3

FC St. Gallen

St. Gallen are coming off the 0-2 away defeat suffered in Thun that extended to 3-games their losing streak. Peter Zeidler’s troops have got a lot of potential but they can’t put it on display regularly. Oftentimes in fact, they play good one half and poorly another one. Right now, however, it’s time to earn points… St. Gallen in fact, earned only 6 points in their last 7 matches!

Neuchâtel Xamax FCS

Neuchâtel Xamax are coming off the 2-2 draw earned at the last gasp in Lugano… that was the second consecutive draw for Michel Decastel’s troops. Moreover, it was the 6th draw in their last 8 matches! We mean, these guys are some sort of “drawing” machine… unfortunately for them though, they rarely win (the last win dates back to the end of September when they won at home against Lugano). This team is very much alive and performs quite well. It has all it takes to earn points in St. Gallen. (to note that Neuchâtel Xamax drew all their last 4 away games!).

Trivia…

The last two times St. Gallen and Neuchâtel Xamax faced each other in St. Gallen the games ended in a draw and in an away win. St. Gallen last home win against Neuchâtel Xamax therefore dates back to May 1, 2010! On that day the hosts, back then under Uli Forte, earned a 2-1 win thanks to the goals scored by Adrian Winter and Pa Modou. Only Raphaël Nuzzolo (who else?!) scored for the visitors.
