29.09.18 – FC St. Gallen – Grasshopper Club Zürich 3-1

Grasshopper Club Zürich

Grasshopper are coming off the 3-2 away win earned in Neuchâtel that put to an end their 3-games winless run (1 draw, 2 losses). The win earned at the Maladière was a godsend for the Hoppers that, overall, are still disappointing. Both in terms of results and performances. Grasshopper, however, are still alive in they own way and from time to time are able to earn crucial wins out of nowhere… not for nothing in fact, and despite everything, Fink’s troops are only 6 points from the 4th place, after all.

FC St. Gallen

St. Gallen are coming off the good performance delivered against Young Boys that, however, wasn’t enough to avoid a 2-3 home defeat. The latter defeat, followed the 2 consecutive wins earned against Zürich and Sion. Peter Zeidler’s troops are capable of everything and its opposite but they darn lack consistency. They proved already that they can have a great season but now it’s time to show it with consistency. Starting from today.

Trivia…

Guys, forget about goalless draws when Grasshopper and St. Gallen face each other at the Letzigrund. The last one in fact, dates back to November 7th 2004! On that day, the two teams goalkeepers were Peter Jehle (Grasshopper) and Gabriel Wütrich (St. Gallen).
