Our match report, the key player, video highlights and match statistics.

Young Boys earned a 3-2 away win in St. Gallen…

And it was a really enjoyable football afternoon! The stadium was crowded and noisy – and unfortunately we could appreciate the show only on TV – and the two teams really entertained us. The truth is then, that Young Boys won mostly because their top class players were able to make the difference.

Right, because St. Gallen did well, see very well in terms of performance. Zeidler’s troops even took the lead with Dereck Kutesa after 13 minutes but the hosts goal woke up the visitors top class players… and in particular Kevin Mbabu, who set up twice perfectly Jean-Pierre Nsame with the latter who scored two goals between the 18th and the 26th minutes of play that turned the score around.

And that was not all… shortly after the half-an-hour mark in fact, Roger Assalé – another great player – put the current league leaders 3-1 ahead and seemed to have sealed the win for them.

As we said, however, St. Gallen performed very well and it’s not wrong to say that they would have deserved at least a draw. The hosts in fact, did brilliantly during the second half… but they paid a high price because of their inaccuracy in front of goal. This factor, has meant that they were able to shorten distances only with Vincent Sierro who converted a penalty kick in the 86th minute of play.

Too late… because Young Boys are experienced and strong enough and this allowed them to keep their 1-goal lead until the end.

Kevin Mbabu (BSC Young Boys)

The way Kevin Mbabu set up twice Jean-Pierre Nsame is top class!
