GAME DAY – February 22nd, 2019
6 games are scheduled for tonight. A couple of them, put at stake very – but very! – important points!
Let’s get down to the details…
SC Bern – HC Davos
01.12.18 – SC Bern – HC Davos 4-1
11.01.19 – HC Davos – SC Bern 0-1
19.02.19 – HC Davos – SC Bern 3-4
Bern and Davos face each other again after only few days for the fourth and last time this season.
The Mutzen are coming off 4 consecutive win and won 10 of their last 12 games played even though performances were not always top notch. Nevertheless, Jalonen’s troops are the clear favourites for tonight’s game against the Ibexes who won only 1 of their last 7 games.
EHC Biel-Bienne – SCL Tigers
02.10.18 – SCL Tigers – EHC Biel-Bienne 3-5
13.11.18 – EHC Biel-Bienne – SCL Tigers 3-2 (SO)
11.01.19 – SCL Tigers – EHC Biel-Bienne 4-0
Bienne vs Langnau is a very important game for countless reasons.
The Seeländers, who are coming off 3 consecutive defeats and won only 5 of their last 15 games, must absolutely find themselves again. They need to get back to winning ways consistently if they want to make the playoffs. Langnau for their part are so close to make it… 3 points might be just enough and surely they have every intention to earn them tonight. It’s not impossible, the Tigers won 5 of their last 6 games and are in a great shape!
HC Fribourg Gottéron – HC Ambrì-Piotta
23.10.18 – HC Fribourg Gottéron – HC Ambrì-Piotta 3-2 (d.s.)
01.12.18 – HC Ambrì-Piotta – HC Fribourg Gottéron 2-1
13.01.19 – HC Ambrì-Piotta – HC Fribourg Gottéron 2-5
Fribourg Gottéron vs Ambrì-Piotta is a game that virtually puts 6 points at stake…
The Dragons are coming off the 3-2 win earned against Bienne that followed the two defeats suffered against Lausanne and Rapperswil. If Mark French’s troops win tonight, however, will go only 2 points behind Ambrì-Piotta and that would be a great deal… it’s not gonna be easy though, that’s because Ambrì-Piotta are in a great shape. They’re coming off the 6-3 away win earned in Zug but most and above all won 4 of their last 5 games. And let us not forget that their performances are almost always excellent!
SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers – Genève Servette HC
Rapperswil felt quite comfortbaly against Genève Servette this season… they earned 7 of their total 29 points right against them.
Jeff Tomlinson’s troops are preparing themselves for the playout final and want to confirm their recent improvements that have led to win 4 of the last 10 games. The Eagles for their part are basically up against the wall and can’t afford any further misstep… they’re coming off the painful 3-4 shootouts away defeat suffered in Lugano but most and above all they won only 2 of their last 11 games.
Lausanne HC – EV Zug
30.09.18 – Lausanne HC – EV Zugo 4-2
03.11.18 – EV Zug – Lausanne HC 1-4
11.01.19 – EV Zug – Lausanne HC 4-2
This game is very important especially for Lausanne…
The Lions Vaudois must bounce back after the clear 0-7 home defeat suffered against Lugano a couple of days ago that put to an end their 6-games winning run. The playoffs are so close and 3 points might even be enough to make it. Zug instead continue to chase the first place on the table but are coming off the 3-6 home defeat suffered against Ambrì-Piotta that put to an end a 3-games winning run.
ZSC Lions – HC Lugano
03.11.18 – HC Lugano – ZSC Lions 5-3
08.01.19 – ZSC Lions – HC Lugano 7-4
11.01.19 – HC Lugano – ZSC Lions 1-3
The two finalists of last season’s playoffs face each other in this game that virtually puts at stake 6 points!
The ZSC Lions are coming off the 1-3 home defeat suffered against Bern – even though the performance was overall a good one – and won only 1 of their last 6 games. We mean, they can’t play with fire anymore… points are needed. Also Lugano need points though. They’re coming off the clear 7-0 away win earned in Lausanne that allowed them to get back above the 8th place on the table for the first time since early January. The Bianconeri are improving a lot and won 4 of their last 5 games. During these last 5 games, moreover, Elvis Merzlikins earned 3 shutouts.
Have fun, guys 🙂
